Thursday, November 23: Indigenous Rights and Decolonization in Canada: A Conversation

Indigenous Rights and Decolonization in Canada: A Conversation
Thursday November 23, 7 pm to 9 pm
(online)

Hosted by Amnesty International Group 33, Saskatoon: a conversation with seven Indigenous writers, artists and academics ~ Doug Cuthand, Valerie Arnault-Pelletier, Louise Halfe, Betty Ann Adam, Omeasoo Wahpasiw, John Lagimodiere, and Candace Wasacase-Lafferty. This online event is open to everyone who shares an interest in human rights and decolonization.

A lot has been said and written about decolonization, and still many Canadians aren’t as clear as they’d like to be about what it means to its advocates and its opponents.

This Zoom session will present  the points of view of people who have been deeply impacted by hundreds of years of colonization.

Why should colonization be undone? What might a decolonized Canada look like? What are the key human rights?
