This is your invitation to join the Amnesty Rocks the Boat dragon boat team for 2024.

This year the festival will be held during the last weekend of August, the 30th and 31st. Our 200 meter races will be held Friday evening the 30th with the finals Saturday morning the 31st. Our three 500 meter races will be later on Saturday.

We will be asking for practice times on the four Tuesdays of August: 6, 13, 20 and 27 at 6:30 p.m. And we hope to arrange a fifth practice at some time which suits the majority of us. I will try to arrange for a coach for the first two practices.

Please register only if you can arrange to participate in the majority (preferably all) of the practices and all the race times.

Your registration fee of $75 will pay for your share of the team registration fee plus extra practices, and your team tee shirt.

There are two steps to registration:

STEP 1: Registration Information

Send an email to Dave (email: dwessel@sasktel.net) and Robin (email: robinrae8008@gmail.com) with the following information. Some of the information is for the waiver we will all be required to sign.

First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Street Address, Postal Code, Phone Number, Gender, Birth Date, Age, Shirt Size

Gender is required because an adult mixed recreational team must have at least 8 male paddlers and at least 8 female paddlers. Shirt size is your best guess for unisex sizing for our team shirt order. We usually order 30 shirts for 23 crew members, so we may be able to give you a different size if needed.

Also let us know if you are interested in being our drummer or our steersman. It is good to have a backup steersman. The festival will likely arrange one training session for steersmen.

STEP 2: Fee Payment

Wait until you have heard back from us that you are one of the first 23 applicants before sending in the registration fee.
e-Transfer your registration fee of $75.00 to amnestyinternationalregina@gmail.com. Indicate that it is a registration fee for Amnesty Rocks the Boat.

We will accept the first 23 completed registrations that we receive. We will let you know when the boat is full. If we receive your registration after that, we will let you know and give you the opportunity to be on a short wait list and come to practices as a spare. You do not have to pay the fee at that point. If spaces do become free later on, we will work through the wait list in order to offer team membership.
