August 25 and 26: Amnesty Rocks the Boat at the Regina Dragon Boat Festival

Our Amnesty Rocks the Boat – Dragon Boat team has been busy practicing for the Festival scheduled for August 25 and 26 and you are invited to cheer on our team!!! The best place to watch the races is at Pine Island. The festival map including the location of Pine Island and the food trucks, children’s village and trade market village on the south side of Wascana Lake here

Our team will be racing in the Friday, August 25 – 200 meter sprint at 6:00pm (lane 3) and 6:30pm (lane 1). The finals for the 200 meter sprint will be held in the morning on Saturday, August 26 and the time will depend on Friday’s results.

The 500 meter races will be held on Saturday, August 26 with Amnesty Rocks the Boat scheduled for races at 12noon (lane 2) and 1:35pm (lane2). The finals for the 500 meter races will be held in the afternoon of August 26 and the time will depend on Saturday’s race results.

The oath of the Dragon Boat Festival is: “This single paddle represents harmony, friendship and peace among the world’s people. With the symbolic passing of this paddle, we pledge our commitment to the unification of that multi-faceted community with humility, goodwill and dignity.”
