You are invited to join us on March 29th (online) and hear from our wonderful speakers who will each bring their own experience of using Urgent Actions. (Please note: this event will start at 7:00am Saskatchewan time and is hosted by our Amnesty International Global movement).
Be sure to register in advance here
Since 1973, Amnesty International has used Urgent Actions to mobilise activists across the world to take action in a short amount of time, typically within a few days, to bring about change for individuals and groups whose human rights are at immediate risk.
But how did it start? How does it work today and who is in the 500,000+ strong network? And what impact have we had?
Guest speakers will include:
• Tracy Ulltveit-Moe: Former Head of Research for the Americas Region and creator of the first ever UA
• Rimmel Mohydin: Country Campaigner, South Asia Regional Office
• Mansoureh Mills: Researcher on Iran, MENA Regional Office
• Esther Ikubaje: Campaigner, Amnesty International Nigeria
• Aurelio Perez: Individuals at Risk Manager, Amnesty International France
• Ignacio Montanos: Individuals at Risk Manager, Amnesty International Spain
